Filming has begun on X-Men: New Mutants, the supposed “…full-fledged horror movie” set in the superhero universe that began back in 2000.

The film has been set for an April 13th, 2018 opening. The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone is helming from a script he co-wrote with Knate Lee about teenage superheroes-mutants. Simon Kinberg and Karen Rosenfelt are producing.

X-Men: New Mutants will star Henry Zaga, Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, and Alice Braga, who took over a role originally filled by Rosario Dawson.

Synopsis:
Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.
