Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” is perhaps one of the most clever, insane, and entertaining cartoons I’ve seen in a long time. Essentially a psychopathic version of Back to the Future, the series follows young teen Morty and his grandfather Rick as they go on intergalactic and interdimensional travels, often ones that fall into violence, chaos, and mind-bending paths.

After a couple years of waiting, the show is finally ready to premiere its third season on July 30th at 11:30pm EST. To celebrate the upcoming season, a trailer has been released that gives us a taste of what’s to come. In the words of Rick, “Welcome to the darkest years of our adventures.”
