The trade is reporting that RKO Pictures has just signed a joint venture with Twisted Pictures, the horror branch of talent agency Evolution Entertainment responsible for the Saw series among others. The deal will see the duo producing four remakes from RKO’s massive library with talent being pulled from Evolution’s ever-expanding list of clients.
Three of the four films that will be produced are new visions of the 1946 Boris Karloff movie Bedlam, the Bela Lugosi/Karloff team-up The Body Snatcher from 1945, and 1943’s I Walked With a Zombie. The fourth has yet to be named.
Though I usually shun remakes, I have to admit this whole idea has got me pretty excited! Stay tuned for word on who will do what as all the remakes are out to writers as we speak!
