Another actor has signed up for active duty on the alien invasion thriller Extinction as Variety is reporting that Bling Ring actor Israel Broussard has joined the previously announced Michael Pena and Lizzy Caplan.

Hounds of Love director Ben Young will direct Universal and Good Universe’s sci-fi thriller, which follows a father (Pena) whose recurring nightmare of losing his family becomes a real threat as the planet is invaded by aliens.

Eric Heisserer — who was most recently Oscar nominated for his Arrival script — will write the screenplay with Spenser Cohen and Bradley Caleb Kane.

Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville, who backed the highly-anticipated live action Beauty and the Beast, will produce. Mandeville’s Alexander Young will executive produce alongside Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe. Anna Halberg will serve as co-producer.

Exec VP of production Erik Baiers and creative executive Mika Pryce will oversee production for Universal. Erin Westerman will oversee on behalf of Good Universe.
