It’s been nearly a decade since Sam Raimi announced that he was interested in remaking his classic flick The Evil Dead. Years have passed. Hopes have been dashed. There’s been a ton of non-news, but now something a bit more concrete has come to life.
During an interview with the website Freep producer Rob Tapert dropped the following on fans …
“It’s possible; we’re looking at a script this month,” Tapert said. “What’s interesting about ‘Evil Dead’ is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater… I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.”
If this project happens, and as always that’s a big “IF“, the film would be released under the Ghost House Pictures banner. Look for more soon. Hey, it’s better than nothing, right?
