In true brash Gamecock style, the publishers are promising to “set the bar for mature handheld games” with the title, which is a first person survival horror shooter adventure game kind of thing. Certainly a formula that could work, even if the DS seems a rather unlikely place for such a game.
According to the press release for The Ward, the game sees its protagonist waking up in a deserted Silent Hill-esque hospital, which is frozen in time. Trapped in there with various surgical experiments and “peculiar characters”, you’ll have to solve puzzles and wave around a flashlight if you want to make it out alive.
It has to be said, for the hardware, the game is looking rather impressive. How impressive the final game turns out we’ll find out later this year.
