Friday the 13th – Filmmakers Looking for Young Jason

On the long road to getting the 13th Friday the 13th made, we’ve learned a few things. First and foremost this would be another origin tale of sorts (because, you know, we’ve no idea how any of this all began by now) which is rumored to feature Jason’s dad, Elias Voorhees, for the first time along with a young Jason. Speaking of young Jason…

Here’s the official description of his character which was sent out via Project Casting:

“Male, Caucasian, 12 years old ONLY SEEKING IDENTICAL TWINS W/ TV AND FILM CREDITS. MUST BE UNDER 5 FOOT. NO EXCEPTIONS. Lengthy and awkward. A dark, ominous child, who has severe psychological issues. Must have a very electric and expressive face (you will be painting the scene with your facial expressions), as this role does not speak. YOUNG JASON will grow into the pyscho-killer JASON. SUPPORTING ROLE. MUST BE ATLANTA BASED.”

We wouldn’t read into the whole twins thing, as some sites are, too much as it’s common practice to hire twins for movies given the laws in place and the long filming hours.

The film will be shooting from March 19 to May 4, 2017, under the title Friday the 13th Part 13, but we’re thinking that’s just a temporary moniker. The Crazies director Breck Eisner is at the helm and working from a script by Prisoners‘ Aaron Guzikowski.
