Pierre Morel Puts Ouija Away, Looks Toward Earth Defense Force

Okay so we now know what Taken director Pierre Morel will not be doing next. It seems as if Universal’s Ouija couldn’t cast a big enough spell over the hot French director.

According to Variety Morel is moving into deeper talks to direct Warner Bros.’ alien invasion actioner Earth Defense Force, set up with Sam Raimi and Bill Block’s QED International.

Morel (pictured right) had also been in contention recently to helm Universal’s Ouija but is no longer a candidate for the project.

Earth Defense Force, also known as EDF, centers on three alien fighters who attack the planet, leaving the governments humiliated. Earth’s leaders respond by forming an alliance to create a fighting force in preparation for the next larger alien attack.
