THR reported last week that the latest entry in The Predator franchise would be set in the suburbs. Today director Shane Black debunked this rumor via Collider.
“Details for the film are being kept firmly under wraps, but when the movie hits theaters on February 9, 2018, don’t expect any suburban ‘Predator lurking in rich, fancy swimming pools’ scenes.”
In the film, which will be rated R, Olivia Munn is playing a scientist opposite Boyd Holbrook’s Special Forces commando. That’s about all we know thus far other than the proposed release date.
Black is directing from a script by Fred Dekker. John Davis, Joel Silver, and Lawrence Gordon — who produced the original — are producing with hopes to begin shooting next year.
