The studio announced today that 1408, the Stephen King adaptation that stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, has been pushed up from its original release date of July 13th to almost a full month earlier; June 22nd. Now that’s what I call feeling good about your product!
For those who have not had the fortune of reading the story, which appears in King’s Everything’s Eventual collection and is easily one of the best things he’s ever written, the story is about a man (played by Cusack) who travels from haunted locale to haunted locale, disproving ever single haunting he is told about. Then he checks into the infamous room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel, a room no one has ever lasted one hour in let alone all night, and sees the face of true evil.
