Marilyn Manson’s Phantasmagoria Shut Down

On again. Off again. On again. Off again. That’s been about par for the course concerning Marilyn Manson’s idea for a movie called Phantasmagoria, which was to be based on Alice in Wonderland scribe Lewis Carroll. Everything seemed to have been in place. We even had a good cast consisting of Manson himself, Lily Cole, Tilda Swinton, and Evan Rachel Wood. Unfortunately things have hit a wall, yet again.

According to NME Marilyn Manson’s directorial debut has been put on hold after a negative response to the film’s violent trailer.

The trailer caused such a backlash that a decision was made to close down the project. It’s unlikely it will ever see the light of day,” claims a source close to the studio backing the film.

Check out the controversial trailer below, and keep it here for more as it comes. If it comes.
