According to About.com Friday the 13th remake star Arlen Escarpeta will be joining the previously announced Miles Fisher in the upcoming 3D sequel that will hopefully get the series back on track after the last two dismally weak entries.
“I think what they’re going to do really, really well this time around, they’re going to go back – the story, the plot, a lot of stuff is really going to matter,” explained Escarpeta. “I think in the last movie it was just death. It was death, death, death, which is fine because that’s what people want to see. But this time we’re going to give them a little bit of everything – good story, great director – it’s going to be good.”
Steven Quale (the second unit director for Avatar) will be working from a script by horror’s busiest scribe Eric Heisserer (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Thing). Craig Perry is once again back as producer, and the project is on schedule for its September 13th start date in Vancouver.
Look for 5nal Destination 3D to be in theatres on August 26th, 2011.
