Tribeca Horrors ’07: The Last Man

With the Tribeca Film Festival gearing up in New York City, there’s a lot more than spring in the hazy Tri-State air! We’ve told you about monsters, ghosts, mutated rat-people so far, but suspiciously vampires have not made their presence known… until now.

As we told you about in our coverage of the horror helpings of the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca’s got a very unique vampire film they’re planning to unspool for a (likely) unsuspecting audience. Just reading the plot synopsis below really tells you nothing about the movie, though simply calling it a “vampire movie” is far too limiting if the early reviews are to be believed. Here’s a taste of what it’s all about;

“In Beirut, a city where so much blood has been spilled in seemingly interminable political conflicts, the sudden appearance of what appear to be victims of a serial killer isn’t especially alarming. A 40-year-old doctor (Carlos Chahine, in an astonishing performance) develops links to the victims and begins to exhibit strange and disturbing symptoms of his own. “

Could this be one of those films everyone talks about when the final credits roll? It sure as hell sounds like it so far. Check out when you can catch The Last Man at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival!
