Tribeca Horror ’07: The Matrimony

With the Tribeca Film Festival gearing up in New York City, there’s a lot more than spring in the hazy Tri-State air! Ghosts and spirits are all around you, as I’m sure you know, but what would happen if your dead lover took over your current lover’s body? The best of both worlds? Hardly!

As we told you about in our coverage of the horror helpings of the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca has some genuine spooks to mix in with all the horror and depravity going down, which is where China’s The Matrimony fits into the picture. What’s all this about dead lovers and such? Read on!

“In 1920’s Shanghai, wealthy Junchu loses his fiancée in a freak accident and is coerced by his mother into marrying Sansan, a near stranger. Soon afterward, Sansan’s body is inhabited by the devious ghost of Junchu’s dead lover, sending her on a downward spiral of madness and murder in this captivating gothic horror.
