Prior to directing spinoff film Annabelle, John Leonetti was The Conjuring‘s director of photography, and young star Joey King clearly impressed him on the set. The actress, who played Christine in James Wan’s franchise starter, has just been cast in Leonetti’s Wish Upon. Read on for details!
Per Variety, King (Independence Day: Resurgence) will star in Broad Green Pictures’ horror-thriller as a 16-year-old misfit who finds a magic box that promises a chance at the life she’s always wanted. However, she soon discovers that each wish demands a deadly payment.
Leonetti is directing from a script by Barbara Marshall (“Terra Nova,” “The Listener”).
Wish Upon will begin production this fall.
