Buchler Awakens Frankenstein?

Those crazy folks over at Horrorboards are at it again, this time picking the brain of famed FX artist and all around nice guy John Carl Buechler. They sit down with him to discuss his work on everything from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 to Hatchet (review) and find out some very cool info on his next directorial effort, as well. Dig it:

”Right now I’m working on my version of Frankenstein,” he told the site. ”This one’s a departure for me. It’s got a pretty good budget for a change. Most of my stuff is pretty light-hearted, funny and over the top. This project is dead serious and as scary as it can be. As I said before, my creature design is I think is one of my best, to date.”

Not much else is revealed about the film, but needless to say I’m intrigued. Though the subject of Frankenstein may have been done to death, Buechler’s the kind of guy I could see giving it some life again. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
