According to Variety:
The two companies plan to produce a big screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book,” which Neil Jordan (“Interview with the Vampire”) is writing and will direct. Project revolves around an orphan raised by ghosts.
Columbus will pen “Carpe Demon,” based on Julie Kenner’s “Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom,” about a stay-at-home mother who is charged with cleaning up her demon-ridden small town. Scribes Kevin and Dan Hageman, Michael Dougherty, and Dan Harris had previously taken stabs at the script.
Adam Green (“Hatchet”) will pen “Killer Pizza,” an action comedy about a 14-year-old who lands a summer job at Killer Pizza, which is a front for a monster-hunting organization.
Pretty sweet! We’ll take Green’s horror comedy about pizza serving monster fighters any day over the damned near guaranteed to be lame Platinum Dunes Monster Squad remake.
Look for more on these projects soon.
