E3 2016: Death Stranding Definitive Proof Kojima Can Name Anything Whatever and I’ll Love It

When Hideo Kojima got kicked off of Silent Hills and the franchise literally turned into a Pachinko machine, I rightfully wept for the future of horror gaming. I wondered why and how the fates could be so cruel. Hell, they released PT just to promote it! That must have cost a lot money; how the hell could they just abandon it?

Unfortunately, we will likely never know the real reasons behind why the ill-fated Kojima/del Toro/Reedus collaboration failed.

On the much, much brighter side, it seems like we can all move on since Sony has swooped in to save the day and give Kojima a new platform to work with. Feast your eyes on the newest Kojima production, Death Stranding:

Before you ask, no, I don’t know what the hell that was about. Nor do I know what “Death Stranding” means. But honestly, you didn’t ask a lot of questions when Psycho Mantis read your memory card, so just go with it please. It’s chock-full of metaphor, and I get an ol’ college stiffy thinking about the sheer amount of symbolism Death Stranding will give me to dive into.

This is one of the games that didn’t present a release date this year, so don’t expect anything super soon. We’ll have more info for you as it washes up on the oily beach.
