Noomi Rapace Meets a Mysterious Boy

Danish filmmaker Jonas Arnby made his directorial debut with last year’s When Animals Dream, a werewolf flick that caught the attention of many here in the horror community. Filming is set to begin this coming August on his next film, Boy, and a star has just attached herself to the project. Read on!

As reported by Variety, Noomi Rapace (Prometheus) will play the lead in the sci-fi thriller, scripted by Mattson Tomlin. Lotus Entertainment is launching international sales at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

The 2015 Black List script centers on a teenage boy who is born with special abilities and spends his childhood switching names and cities to keep his identity hidden. When his conservative, suburban neighborhood discovers the risk he poses and blames him for a mass, tragic event, he and his mother must flee from the authorities who are looking to destroy him and seek the trust and support of an underground rebellion group.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Ben Pugh and Leon Clarance are producing. Executive producers include Arash Amel, Rory Aitken, Rian Cahill and Laure Vaysse.
