Brew Bubbling Again

Wow, remember this flick? Many, many moons ago, Adam Gierasch and Jace Andersoon were working on a new film with Tobe Hooper called Brew, the story of a loser who inherits a brewery and is convinced to re-open it despite its bloody history. Then, like many other collaborations between the screenwriting duo and the director, it was just…gone.

But not forgotten! The Ilya Salkind Company still has the film on its production slate, working from the original script by James Dean Schulte and Larry Kirchner, and announced recently that indie director Stephen David Brooks (Heads N TailZ) will helm the feature. Brad Dourif and Gunnar Hanson have signed on, and a nationwide talent search is being conducted to find the leads for the film.

Though not the most exciting concept, the film sounds like it will be a fun mix of blood ‘n brew, which is never a bad thing in my book. Check out the page for Brew on Salkind’s website for a rather shoddy, on-the-cheap teaser for the movie.
