Imprint Entertainment Answers the Phone for Remake

It was starting to seem as if the Asian horror remake trend is deader than a long black-haired chick wearing white and rotting at the bottom of a well. However, for some, just like John Rambo, “NOTHING IS OVER! NOTHING! YOU JUST DON’T TURN IT OFF!” That’s right, kids! Here’s a quick update on the remake of the Korean chiller Phone.

According to Variety Imprint Entertainment, the production company behind The Twilight Saga, has inked a deal with South Korea’s Mirovision to remake Phone, a 2002 Korean horror hit by Ahn Byung-ki.

I thought Korean horror films would succeed in Hollywood once Korean directors steer the remake projects, just as ‘The Grudge’ and ‘The Ring’ series were successful,” said Ahn, who will helm the remake.

Oh well. I guess the powers that be won’t stop until everything’s remade at least once. Or twice. Or three times. Check out the trailer for the original below, and look for more soon.
