So a little over a year ago two friends of mine out here in Boston and I decided we wanted to make some music, have some fun, and see just how popular a band could become without playing out. We recorded a demo with 14 songs in the guitarist’s basement, loved where it was going, and re-recorded the entire thing with actual production values. The name? Viper Rash.
Once the CD was done (we’re finalizing the artwork now and it should hopefully be for sale at Fear Fest), we started on Phase III of the Viper Rash project: videos! The plan is to shoot a video for all 14 songs, similar to what Def Leppard did for Hysteria but without, you know, a budget. And more punk.
The first of the 14 is now up on our MySpace page, and I really want you guys to check it out. It’s not horror-related per se (unless you count crazy bitches as horror, which I’m sure most guys do), but there will be more that are, don’t you worry. You can click here to hit the video directly or just go to the Viper Rash MySpace page and click on “videos”. Just make sure when you’re there you listen to the songs we have up and leave us some feedback because, much like the philosophy behind Dread Central, we’re all about the fans!
And that shit about not playing out is right out the window; keep your eye on the VR page for info about our first show very soon!
