Things are definitely heating up at this year’s American Film Market, where French zombie flick The Horde has landed distribution in the US and Japan with a Korean deal pending.

ScreenDaily reports that IFC Films and Showgate secured rights to Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher’s The Horde for American and Japanese audiences, respectively. “What started as a small zombie movie ended up as a bestseller,” said French sales outfit Film Distribution’s Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, who put the deals together with IFC and Showgate.

Official Synopsis:
“North of Paris. In order to avenge the murder of one of their own by a group of ruthless gangsters, four corrupt cops go on a rampage in a condemned building serving as the mobster’s hideout. Now trapped, the officers are about to be executed when the unimaginable occurs: hordes of bloodthirsty, cannibalistic creatures invade the building, savagely attacking everyone. Unexpected alliances are made when their lives are threatened by the unthinkable.”
