Every once in a while a note comes across our desks about a new horror film that for whatever reason we haven’t heard about until just before its release. One such project is Howie Askins’ Devil Girl, which is being described as a throwback to 70’s grindhouse horror.

The indie feature stars Jessica Graham, Joe Wanjai Ross, Vanessa Kay, Jeff Swarthout, and C.J. Baker and was co-written by director Askins and Tracy Wilcox. Devil Girl will have a limited theatrical release Sept 18th and 19th at Madcap Theaters in Tempe, Arizona, and will play at the Times Square Arts Center in NYC on September 18th. The DVD will be released November 10th, 2009, and starting December 9th you can see Devil Girl on iNdemand.

Synopsis:
Fay (Graham) is a small town girl on a cross-country road trip, trying to escape her own reality after the death of her father. When her muscle car breaks down during a drag race, she finds herself stranded along Route 66 in an isolated desert town. Short on cash, she makes a series of choices to make enough money to repair her car. After encountering a neurotic, drug abusing clown, she finds herself sliding down a dark spiral. Soon her trip starts to devolve into a living nightmare. Trapped and desperate, she fights to regain her identity while navigating through a host of locals: a creepy motel clerk, an overzealous preacher, and a sexy temptress with horns and a tail.
