Headed to festivals this fall, Lake Nowhere promises to resurrect the thrill of gory midnight movies for an hour-long plunge into the depths of horror. Inspired by the golden age of slasher films, it’s described as a love letter to the VHS era, and judging by the trailer, that vibe has been nailed.

Coolest of all, Lake Nowhere – which will be available on VHS, because of course – is preceded by original trailers & commercials, replicating the experience of watching a long lost bootleg tape. The VHS goes up for grabs October 19th, exclusively in the Lake Nowhere online shop.

Upcoming festival screenings include Eerie Horror Fest on October 17th; Vortex Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Horror Fest on October 21st; Tuscon TerrorFest on October 24th; and Ithaca International Film Festival on November 14th. In the meantime, check out the trailer, along with stills and posters!

Directed by Christopher Phelps & Maxim Van Scoy, the film stars Oscar Allen, Paul Gagnon, Charles Gaskins, Laura Hajek, Melody Kology, Wray Villanova, Nathan Andrew Wright, and Matthew Howk as “The Masked Maniac.”

Synopsis:
When a group of friends arrive at a desolate lakeside cabin, they are stalked and murdered by a Masked Maniac, whose lust for blood transcends our world. This age-old tale of senseless slaughter quickly spirals into the realm of supernatural horror and classic monster movies, as we learn the true power that lies within LAKE NOWHERE.
