The two competitors that stand out the most for horror fans are the long awaited The Road, directed by John Hillcoat, and Survival of the Dead, George A. Romero’s latest installment in his Dead oeuvre. Other “thriller” type films that will be shown during the fest’s September 2-12 run are La Doppia Ora from Giuseppe Capotondi (Italy), Accident from Cheang Pou-Soi (China/Hong Kong), and Tetsuo Bullet Man from Shinya Tsukamoto (Japan).
More goodies can be found on the out of competition list: Joe Dante’s The Hole and Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza’s sequel REC 2.
