The Hollywood Reporter got word that the film will open in New York, LA, and San Francisco on July 31 with a gradual expansion into more cities throughout the month of August.
“Very few films I’ve ever seen, going back to Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo,’ have that kind of feel of love and at the same time has horror and a terrifying philosophical exercise in thinking through the greatest extremes of what human emotions and human ambitions can lead to,” Focus Features CEO James Schamus said, referring to Park’s film.
We’ll have the chance to see if Thirst lives up to the hype soon enough, but it’s certainly sounding good.
