Nutter Confirmed for “Eastwick” Pilot

This morning’s Variety confirmed what we’ve been hearing rumblings about for a while now: Veteran TV director David Nuttter is attached to helm the pilot episode for the proposed “Witches of Eastwick” series for ABC.

Not only has Nutter directed a lot of TV episodes over the years, but he’s 14 for 14 when it comes to helming pilots that get picked up for series. That’s a pretty damn solid track record if you ask me, and since the show’s going to have a supernatural angle, his experience on shows like “The X-Files” will come in handy.

The pilot and hopeful series will focus, much like the John Updike novel and 1987 film adaptation did, on a trio of women who discover they have supernatural powers after a mysterious man (played by Jack Nicholson in the film) arrives in their small New England town. The series potential is pretty much a no-brainer, so hopefully you’ll be hearing more good news soon.
