Coraline Producer Working on Deadworld!

An adaptation of the classic zombie comic Deadworld has been in the works in one form or another for a long, long time now. Finally, though, it seems some real progress is being made on it, as “>Coraline producer Bill Mechanic told MTV this weekend that he’s working on producing Deadworld next.

“I’ve always looked for a good story and these guys have created stories that are so visual that you just see the movie.” Mechanic told the channel, ”There’s a story that needs to be worked out and characters that needs to be worked out, but you at least know what you’re going to do.”

The series was recently re-launched in 2005 after a near 20-year hiatus, and twists the classic zombie story by making the dead just as intelligent as the living. Should be interesting to see where Mechanic goes with it; can you imagine a big-budget, animated 3D zombie film? Probably too cool to be true but we can hope!
