There’s something about combining “CBS” with “slasher” that doesn’t seem quite right, but hell, they’re also the network that had a show about swingers, so maybe they have finally shed their image as our grandparents’ channel. Case in point: upcoming series “Harper’s Island” about several friends who are systematically killed off one per week after coming together for a member of their group’s wedding.

We first got wind of “Harper’s Island” back in May of 2008, and now thanks to About.com’s Horror & Suspense Blog, more details have come to light. The show stars Harry Hamlin, Christopher Gorham of “Ugly Betty”, Jim Beaver and Katie Cassidy from “Supernatural”, and Richard Burgi from Hostel Part II and is slated to run just one season via a 13-episode arc. Harper’s Island” will air on Thursday nights at 10:00 PM, starting April 9, 2009, and ending July 2nd.

It will be a “multi-platform social show collaboration between CBS and EQAL, the company behind lonelygirl15, including a website (www.harpersglobe.com) airing complementary episodes with characters, locations, and plots that overlap with the TV show. This online content will begin airing on Wednesday, March 18, several weeks before the first TV episode.”

A few stills from the show and a trailer can be found below. Keep it here for more on “Harper’s Island” as we learn it!
