Throughout the past several weeks we have seen previews of collectibles being released by companies such as Sideshow, NECA, and Mezco. As a collector myself, I love it when we get to see new releases, and I absolutely cannot wait for a couple of the pieces that are coming out.
Let’s take a look at ten of our favorite horror collectibles for this year!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: 30th Anniversary 8″ Clothed Figure From NECA
Everyone’s favorite chainsaw-wielding cannibal was released in June to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1986 cult classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. I haven’t gotten my hands on this one yet, but if it is anything like the 40th anniversary figure from the original ’74 Chain Saw, then I will be picking this bad boy up as soon as possible. The figure stands 8″ tall and is fully poseable. Leatherface comes equipped with his trusty chainsaw and a meat carver as well. With this figures, the packaging is also tremendous. I personally love the art style that they used; the figure comes in a resealable blister packaging featuring custom artwork by illustrator Jason Edmiston! I’m sure that most of you guys have seen this figure, but if you haven’t, check it out!
NECA has also announced that in September they will be releasing Leatherface’s brother Chop-Top in the same retro clothed line. Chop-Top will have similar packaging and come complete with his own arsenal of accessories featuring his wire hanger, lighter, razor, removable wig, hammer, and removable glasses. The blister packaging will also feature artwork from illustrator Jason Edmiston!
Evil Dead II – 7″ Ash Ultimate Scale Action Figure From NECA
Along with the release of Chop-Top, NECA is also releasing its Ultimate Ash figure in September! From the 1987 cult classic Evil Dead II, NECA is bringing us what they are calling the definitive collector’s version of our boomstick-toting, chainsaw-armed hero! Unlike the Leatherface and Chop-Top, this figure is only 7″ and is not clothed, but he does come with a nice array of detailed accessories. Our hero comes complete with 2 interchangeable heads for starters: one regular and one possessed! He also comes with interchangeable right forearms, severed possessed hand, Sheila head, Necronomicon, tape recording machine, shotgun, and axe. The figure has over 25 points of articulation and is fully poseable featuring all new fully articulated legs! The figure comes packaged in a collector-friendly window box packaging, and you can bet that I will be picking this great collectible up the first chance that I get!
House of 1000 Corpses 8″ Clothed Captain Spaulding Figure From NECA
Just released this month comes Captain Spaulding, the proprietor of Captain Spaulding’s Museum of Monsters and Madmen! The fan favorite from Rob Zombie’s classic film comes in the form of an 8″ figure from NECA’S retro clothed line in his classic clown attire! The figure is fully poseable and will come packaged in protective clamshell packaging; like the others, it will also feature custom artwork! If you have been looking for some figures from House of 1000 Corpses, then you have seen that they can be a bit pricey. This one, however, probably won’t break the bank if you jump on it soon. I know that I will!
Texas Chain Saw Massacre Leatherface Premium Format Figure From Sideshow Collectibles
Two Chainsaw figures have already been spoken of in this list, but I couldn’t leave this piece off! However, not much is known about this release. What we do know is simply that it is coming and they have just a teaser picture up on their site. Sideshow has already given us Jason and Pinhead, both of which look tremendous! I would assume that this beauty will go for around the same price and stand about the same height. For the most part these guys handle comic book collectibles and more mainstream pop culture licenses, but it is nice to see them showing the horror genre some love and delivering fantastic pieces! Sideshow also has a Freddy Premium Format Figure, and they will be releasing their Hell Priestess Premium Format Figure alongside an art print. Teaser images for both of these are down below!

Child’s Play 15″ Talking Good Guys Chucky From Mezco
Mezco has been putting out a great line of horror collectibles and is giving NECA a run for its money! One of their best lines is Chucky, and the good folks over at Mezco are bringing us what I think will be one of the best pieces any collector with a love for killer dolls could ask for: the Good Guys doll. Their designers created an all-new head sculpt that captures his look in the popular series, each detail of his iconic outfit looks to be completely replicated, from his classic coveralls and shirt to the imprint of the soles on his sneakers. Chucky speaks 4 movie-accurate phrases when you activate the button on his bac, and comes packaged in a sturdy, collector-friendly die-cut window box inspired by the packaging seen in the films. This is another one that I will be pre-ordering; their website says shipping will start in September!
Bride of Chucky 5″ Chucky Figure From Mezco
Mezco has also put out two other Chucky-related collectibles that are up for pre-order and are expected to ship out along with the previous 15″ Good Guys Chucky. The first of these two is the new 5″ figure of the doll as he is seen in the latter half of the series, taken from the film Bride of Chucky. The Chucky 5″ action figure features two film accurate weapons: his knife and the gun he had in the film. He will also come with two sets of arms as well and will be packaged on a blister card for easy display!
Bride of Chucky 15″ Talking Tiffany Doll From Mezco
The next and final Chucky-related collectible featured in this list is Mezco’s 15″ Talking Tiffany doll! This doll will ship out just before the previous two on this list and is the companion to their previously released 15″ scarred Chucky. Both of these dolls look a hell of a lot better than those that have been hanging around every Spencer’s Gifts in the local malls. Tiffany comes screen accurate from her outfit to her necklace to the tattoo she has on her breast! She will come packaged in a window box that makes displaying easy if you don’t want to crack her open!
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth 12″ Pinhead Figure From Mezco
Another item that will be shipping in September is this wonderful looking Pinhead figure standing 12″ tall holding the Lament Configuration. Pinhead looks to be extremely detailed; the figure comes with two sets of hands, one set to hold the Lament Configuration and a second to wield his other accessories. Pinhead features 7 points of articulation and is packaged in a specially die-cut collector-friendly window box that makes displaying him easy! This is one that you may want to get fast.
The Conjuring Annabelle Scaled Prop Replica From Mezco
Mezco’s Annabelle doll stands 18 inches tall and features rotocast head, hands, and feet. Her torso, legs, and arms are screen-accurate plush. This does look like a great piece, not one that I will personally pick up, but I felt that it should be included in this list for those of you would like to own a highly detailed piece to showcase your love for The Conjuring! Annabelle comes packaged in a window box package, and it looks like this one is actually available now, so run out and pick yourself up one!
Universal Monsters: Frankenstein From Mezco
Mezco has a great line that they call their One:12 Collective, and they have done a tremendous job in bringing us a really sharp-looking Frankenstein’s Monster! The figure seems to be well worth the price tag on this bad boy; it features accurate fabric clothing, hyper-realistic portraits, articulated body, character-specific sutured forearms, and film-accurate boots! Not only does the figure come highly detailed, but it also comes with a standard portrait, angry portrait, posing hands with attached forearms, grasping hands with forearms, functioning shackles with metal chain, and a display base with a posing post. The figure is packaged in a deluxe, fifth panel window box with translucent acetate slipcover. Designed for collector convenience, the packaging allows for both maximum protection as well as ease of removal for display. This is a must-have for those who love the old school horror pictures of the past!
