Behold! The First Two “Universal Megos”

The US Toy Fair is an insane rush of interviews and images of THOUSANDS of the newest toys hitting our happy shores, most of which we can shoot pictures of so you, at home, can drool to your heart’s content and plant printed pictures around the house like a young Ralphie hinting at his lust for a Red Rider BB gun. But some, no matter how much we beg, we cannot photograph, most often due to approvals needed by a licensor.

The Universal Monsters Retro Action Figures (amazing love-child of EMCE Toys and Diamond Select) were among those items we REALLY wanted to shoot extensively and later take home, pet, and fall asleep with, and now we can finally show you the first two figures you’ll be able to own this year.

The best-selling retro cloth line makes its terrifying return! Fans have waited for retro cloth figures of the true Universal Monsters for over 30 years. Now, at long last, as part of what is sure to be an annual Halloween collector tradition, DST will serve up your favorite mon-stars! Each year will see the release of two new monsters. This year’s series will include: the iconic Frankenstein Monster and The Wolfman! Each figure stands 8” tall with over 14 points of articulation and an authentically detailed full cloth outfit. In stores July 2010 for $15.99 a pop.
