Felicia Day Talks Rock of the Dead

I ran into The Guild‘s creator/star Felicia Day at last month’s Halo: Reach launch party and HAD to ask about Rock of the Dead, the new guitar controller rail shooter that she voices alongside her “Dr. Horrible” co-star, Neil Patrick Harris, with music by Rob Zombie.

Rock of the Dead was released on October 19th for Xbox and PS3 and retails for $39.99 (or $35.99 on Amazon).

You won’t need a freeze ray here, but you WILL need some serious gee-tar skills.

How it works:

When you see the enemy, a RB/GH looking musical staff will come up. Hit the right notes, make some killer music to vanquish the dead (i.e., dead guys, creepy crawlies, UFOs, etc.) and don’t get eaten. Doesn’t get any plainer than that. I just wonder if both Guitar Hero and Rock Band guitars are compatible … I would assume so, but you know what they say about that shit.

Will this game be fun? Judging from the trailer, you bet. It’s an odd enough concept to pique my interest enough to request a review copy and see what happens.
