The 1999 sequel introduced us to Carrie’s teenage half-sister Rachel (Emily Bergl), another tormented teen with psychic powers. Since this isn’t a sequel to Zapped, suffice to say she uses those powers to eliminate some high school punks, in particular “Home Improvement” son Zachery Ty Bryan.
“Crazy Little Voices” by the alternative metal band Ra is the lead track on the soundtrack album that is billed as “Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture The Rage: Carrie 2.” What that essentially means is that maybe two or three songs on this soundtrack were actually played in the film, and the rest were just thrown in to fill an album. Been so long since I saw The Rage: Carrie 2 and I found the film so unmemorable that I honestly don’t even recall if this particular song was featured in the movie or is one of those “inspired by” tracks. I do believe it was in the movie just because the lyrics repeatedly use the word “rage,” and that would make it a natural fit for the opening or closing credits.
Fun Trivia Fact: Would you believe this sequel was originally titled Carrie 2: Say You’re Sorry? I presume that title was changed the moment everyone realized how many different ways that subtitle could be used to rip on the film.
