So if you’re down to roll the dice on something different, then stick around and check it out!
Welcome back for another Daily Dose of indie horror! Today we have Psycho-Unstable Journey by developer Ken Forest. This game was created in just a few hours for the One Minute Horror Jam, and much to my surprise is about ten minutes of mind-bending terror.
Maybe terror isn’t the right word. Psycho-Unstable Journey certainly feels psycho and unstable, though. You play as a person on a road trip from one town to another. With a slightly broken English monologue, you describe the increasingly weird series of events that occurs throughout this trip.
Obviously, things go awry on the journey in Psycho-Unstable Journey. But it’s more just a weird and stressful trek than a true horror experience. I say that in a good way. No jumpscares, no goblins and ghouls. Just you, the road, and whatever madness you find along the way.
