Welcome back for another Daily Dose of indie horror! Today’s game is The Building 71 Incident by Brazilian developer Bruno Pressanto, also known as Scary Cube. Although this is Scary Cube’s first game released, they’re off to an amazing start. One could argue that this incredible little title is a spiritual successor to the art-house film The Curse of Professor Zardonicus.

The Building 71 Incident is set in an abandoned university building in Brazil. The building was allegedly condemned due to a gas leak, but of course, that’s not nearly spooky enough. You play as a former employee who decided to investigate the real cause of whatever happened in Building 71.

This is a first-person exploration game. The Building 71 Incident has a traditional found footage style, with such a powerful VCR aesthetic that I initially thought this was a Puppet Combo title. The game has a ton of detail and interactable objects in the area and is heavily focused on exploration.
