Jordan Peele’s Lovecraft Country Snags Director Yann Demange

A whopping 10 months ago we let you guys know that Get Out‘s Academy Award-winning writer-director Jordan Peele was teaming up with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television to produce a one-hour drama series that will air on HBO called “Lovecraft Country.”
The pilot was written by “Underground” creator Misha Green, and today we have news via Deadline that British helmer Yann Demange – best known for directing the five-part satirical zombie drama series “Dead Set” written by Charlie Brooker – will make his U.S. TV debut directing the series’ pilot episode.
Demange will also executive produce the show, based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff, along with Peele, Green, and Bad Robot’s Abrams and Ben Stephenson. We will keep you up-to-date on all news we hear regarding this new series, but until then you can check out the trailer for “Dead Set” below.

Synopsis:
“Lovecraft Country” follows Atticus Black as he joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
