Stephen King Pleas For This Iconic Mystery Series To “Please” Hit Streamers

Stephen King is tweeting again, so of course, we’re listening. However, this time he’s educating us youngins about an old-school soap opera that served both mystery and crime. We all love scandalous thrillers, so this might be something we can fall in line with…

King took to the bird app to plead for The Edge Of Night to be added to a streaming platform already. From what our research has turned up, we would also like to sign that petition and raise that alarm. See footage from the classic series below.

The series followed a lawyer named Mike Karr and his love interest Sara Lane. Sara is part of an organized crime family, so this led these two crazy kids to seasons of murder, mayhem, and mystery.

The Edge Of Night was created by Irving Vendig. The cast included Ann Flood, Forrest Compton, Donald May, and Lori Loughlin. It ran from 1956–1984 for an iconic 28 seasons. There were allegedly 7,420 produced.

This series seems to be all but forgotten and has yet to land on any streamers. Unlike another beloved genre soap opera Dark Shadows, which can be found on Crackle, Peacock, PlutoTV, The Roku Channel, and Tubi.

I may not always agree with Stephen King, but I could use a throwback soap opera. He might be on to something, and I hope some nice streaming service will hear our shared pleas.

Are you also weirdly invested in The Edge Of Night now that you know it exists? Then let’s try to hop on this bandwagon together at @misssharai. I’ll be the one making merch while nudging the free streaming services to make it happen.
