‘Killer Klowns’ Are Ready To Take Center Stage

After a few months away from the limelight after its gameplay reveal, Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game came out swinging today. With another look at gameplay alongside a release date, it looks like we will soon be able to jump into the zany world of Killer Klowns.

Announced for a June 4, 2024 release, Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game comes from a developer with a long lineage of asymmetrical multiplayer games. Illfonic has a long and storied history of these types of games, with Friday the 13th being the most notorious. But, alongside Friday the 13th, they have developed Predator: Hunting Ground and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed

One might even say that licensed asymmetrical multiplayer is their wheelhouse, and you wouldn’t be wrong. Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game looks to blend comedy with horror with a hide-and-seek style of gameplay. Promising full cross-platform play this will help build up those lobbies of seven, which seems to be the biggest fault of any asymmetrical multiplayer game, filling the lobbies.

With a 3v4 match-up, the three Klowns must utilize their strange alien abilities and weird weapons to hunt down and harvest the humans in Crescent Cove. Meanwhile, the team of four humans looks to scavenge any valuable weapons and loot. All while evading the aliens and arming themselves up to fight back.

With 2024 marking the 34th anniversary of Killer Klowns From Outer Space, it seems like an odd timing to release Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game. But, knowing Illfonic, it will be a good time. I am excited to learn more and hopeful that it will be, for all intents and purposes, Killer Klowns.
You can head over to Steam, PlayStation Network, or the Xbox marketplace to pre-order now, and be sure to follow the Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game Twitter to stay up to date with the game.
