Andy Muschietti & Stephen King Reuniting for ROADWORK Feature Film

Stephen King and Andy Muschietti make a pretty good team; the later’s adaptation of IT was one of 2017’s biggest hits, and IT: Chapter Two is forecasted to demolish the box office when it’s released on September 6th. Muschietti’s sister, Barbara, has served and a producer on both films.

Today brings word that the trio will reunite for a cinematic adaptation of King’s Roadwork (published in 1981 under his pseudonym Richard Bachman). Radio Cantilo revealed that Pablo Trapero has been tapped to direct.

In the novel:

Barton Dawes’ unremarkable but comfortable existence suddenly takes a turn for the worst. A new highway extension is being built right over the laundry plant where he works – and right over his home. Dawes isn’t the sort of man who will take an insult of this magnitude lying down. His steadfast determination to fight the inevitable course of progress drives his wife and friends away while he tries to face down the uncaring bureaucracy that has destroyed his life.
