We’ve been sitting on this one for a while now, folks . . . but now that Halloween is officially upon us, our friends at Eibon Press are letting this big black cat officially out of the bag. Die hards may remember the Eibon gang from their amazing work on the comic book adaptations and spins off they’e been doing of William Lustig Maniac and the films of Lucio Fulci, such as Zombie and The Gates of Hell (City of the Living Dead).  But what they’ve been cooking up as their next act is gonna blow your friggin’ mind, folks…

Yeah, those goddamn nuts have gone and teamed up two of the most notorious, gory slashers of the 198os in Maniac vs. The New York Ripper!  It’s one king hell comic showdown that’s destined to paint your bookshelf red with blood!  Series creator Stephen Romano promises “An encounter unlike any ever done in the history of horror movie crossovers.”  And that’s saying a lot, seeing as we seem to get everything these days from Jack Burton meets Snake Plissken to Evil Dead vs. Darkman.  Eibon’s epic crossover will begin in the second regular issue of “Maniac”, and continue through three more installments of blood-filled mayhem.  “We’re still doing Frank’s story from the original film,” Says Romano.  “But we couldn’t wait to give fans the NY Ripper crossover because it’s so damn fucking cool . . . so we’re serializing it as a special additional story that will unfold in the next few issues.  So you’ll get the regular movie stuff and this wild and crazy cross pollinated sleaze movie slug fest!

If you are a fan of both Maniac and Lucio Fulci’s incredibly controversial “quacking duck” giallo thriller The New York Ripper... well, you now how extreme those films are.  The big question on our minds is what the fuck happens when you get BOTH THOSE GUYS TOGETHER????  Romano has the answer:

Complete fucking insanity, man.  I mean, this thing is NUTS.  When you see the first issue of Maniac, you’ll know we ain’t fucking around anyway, but we were able to come up with a crossover angle with the two properties that’s just beyond madness.  I won’t get into too many spoilers, but I will say this.  These two sick bastards will meet, they will fight, and ten thousand people will die screaming. And I mean that literally.  Ten thousand people.  Screaming. You won’t believe this shit.”

We’ll be there!

Keep a watch on the Eibon website and social feeds for future announcements of this badass thing, plus a related BLACK FRIDAY special, too!
