Now Stephen King Doesn’t Think Any of His Stories Are “Unfilmable”

Apple TV+ will unleash their adaptation of Stephen King Lisey’s Story soon. And today, The Shining and The Stand author says that he now feels that there’s no longer a story he’s written that would be considered “unfilmable.”

King said during a TCA event via THR: “Be all the way in, as much as possible, or be all the way out. There’s been a lot of projects [where it’s like] step back, write books, maybe something will come along, a passion project, and this was that, a passion project… [I don’t] think anything is unfilmable now.”

The deeply personal thriller follows Lisey Landon (Moore) two years after the death of her husband (Clive Owen). A series of unsettling events causes Lisey to face memories of her marriage to the famous novelist that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind. Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, and Ron Cephas Jones also star.

Larrain (Jackie) directs from a series of scripts by King himself based on his novel. King, Moore, and Abrams executive produce with Ben Stephenson.
