Quentin Tarantino’s Self-Proclaimed “Worst Movie” Is Now Free-To-Stream Online

As a student of cinema, Quentin Tarantino isn’t overly precious about his filmography. He’s willing to call out what he considers his worst film. And he has given that distinction to his 2007 action-horror picture Death Proof. The flick was released as part of a double bill alongside Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror.

Although Tarantino considers Death Proof his worst picture, he doesn’t seem to consider it a complete dud. “Death Proof has got to be the worst movie I ever make,” the director once told THR. “And for a left-handed movie, that wasn’t so bad, all right? — so if that’s the worst I ever get, I’m good. But I do think one of those out-of-touch, old, limp, flaccid-dick movies costs you three good movies as far as your rating is concerned.”

For my money, even the director’s “worst movie” is still pretty watchable. I dig the way the flick pays loving tribute to the exploitation films of years past via both narrative elements and visual presentation. Not to mention, Kurt Russell is pretty enjoyable in his turn as the sinister stuntman.

If you’re keen to take in Death Proof, you can find the flick streaming on Tubi as of the publication of this post.

The setup goes like this: Stuntman Mike (Russell) is a professional body double who likes to take unsuspecting women for deadly drives in his free time. He has doctored his car for maximum impact; when Mike purposely causes wrecks, the bodies pile up while he walks away with barely a scratch. The insane Mike may be in over his head, though, when he targets a tough group of female friends, including real-life stuntwoman Zoe Bell, who plays herself.

That’s all we’ve got for the time being. Stay tuned to the site for more updates on what’s streaming where in the coming days. Also, be sure to follow @DreadCentral on Twitter so you never miss an update.
