Reddit has put together the ultimate list of Halloween viewing! u/Chashme_Wali asked the community what they plan on watching for the best holiday in the history of the world. The replies have been top-notch and have us rethinking our plans for this evening. Check out the top must-watch movies for Halloween below!

10. The Exorcist (1973)

Where You Can Watch: Max and Sling

A woman turns to Catholic priests to save her possessed daughter’s soul and life. This movie is nightmare fuel, and I’m surprised it’s not higher on the list, to be honest.

9. The Shining

Where You Can Watch: Max and Sling

An isolated family finds themselves being tormented by sinister forces in this Stephen King adaptation. Many people love this movie, so I’m not surprised Reddit has it on the shortlist for Halloween shenanigans.

8. Talk To Me (2023)

Where You Can Watch: VOD

A group of friends bite off more than they can chew when their favorite party prop opens a door to supernatural entities. This is possibly my favorite movie of 2023, so I love that the internet is finally getting on board.

7. Hereditary (2018)

Where You Can Watch: Max

A family’s grieving is interrupted by sinister forces. This is Ari Aster’s best movie, and I’m still upset that Toni Collette didn’t win an Oscar for her performance.

6. Paranormal Activity 3 (2011)

Where You Can Watch: VOD

This installment goes back to 1988 when Katie and Kristie meet their imaginary friend Toby. I’m glad Reddit showed this franchise some love and support this creepy found footage entry being the one chosen.

5. Cobweb (2023)

Where You Can Watch: Hulu

An eight-year-old discovers a dark family secret when he begins to investigate the knocking sounds from inside the walls of his house. This might be the most Halloween-coded movie we’ve seen in years. It definitely belongs on the list of tonight’s must-see films for tonight.

4. Hell House LLC (2015)

Where You Can Watch: CracklePlexPrime VideoShudderTubi, and YouTube

A documentary crew heads to the site of a Halloween haunted house tragedy. The movie that kicked off one of the favorite found footage franchises deserves to be screened on this sacred holiday. If you want to marathon all four movies, Shudder is your girl today.

3. Ghostwatch (1992)

Where You Can Watch: VOD

This creepy found footage movie is presented as a live broadcast, leaving viewers to watch the on-air investigation of a home being tormented by a poltergeist. I watched this for the first time this year and was changed for evil. So, I agree with Reddit on this one too!

2. Trick ‘r Treat

Where You Can Watch: Max

Five interwoven stories set during Halloween night follow the journey of an adorable monster who turns up at multiple scenes of violent incidents. This anthology is wildly popular for good reasons.

1. Halloween (1978)

Where You Can Watch: CracklePlex, and Redbox

Micheal Myers returns home to finish the killing spree he started 15 years earlier. This movie is the reason for the season! I’m happy it’s the most popular watch on Halloween because it’s literally the only correct choice for the top spot.
