After a hugely successful festival run and winning an abundance of awards, the stop-motion short film FOXED! is now available to watch for free online.

This short may be the most downright terrifying thing you could ever see. When done right, animation can be a hell of a lot more frightening than live action. Don’t show this to your kids.

Synopsis:
Be astonished by what lurks in plain sight. The sinister 3D stop-motion world of Foxed! reveals young Emily toiling in mines beneath her house, imprisoned by foxes who have duped her entire town into believing children can be replaced. Teeming with shadow and light, this grown-up animation unfolds to explore themes of oppression and human rights in a riveting package that creates questions and leaves the audience anxious for more.

FOXED! had such a strong impact that none other than the legendary David Cronenberg is adapting it into a feature alongside his regular producer Martin Katz. This will certainly be interesting, as we’ve never seen Cronenberg work on animation before, and it certainly seems like a story that would be perfect for his macabre style. It could be his best film yet.
