There’s A Bloody New ‘Halloween Ends’ Image; David Gordon Green Shares Update On ‘Weird’ Finale

It’s nearly September and we can finally feel the crisp spooky season fluttering closer and closer. To help matters, Empire landed a brutal new still from Halloween Ends, and it looks promising. The image sees Michael getting up close and personal with a victim while his ginormous butcher knife hovers nearby. Scary stuff. The third chapter in the David Gordon Green trilogy is set to storm the world (AKA Peacock and Cinemas) on October 14th. Check out the image below courtesy of Empire.

Speaking with the outlet, director David Gordon Green shared some insight into his Michael Myers finale:

“It changes every day,” Green said. “In theory, the picture is locked, but this morning I called the editor and said, ‘What if we do this one thing…’ I speak with John and Jamie Lee Curtis regularly about it. It’s exciting, uncertain, satisfying and sad. I’ve enjoyed the ride but it’s probably time to get off. I think we’re gonna go out with a bang.”

Green also adds, “If our second film was free-for-all, violent chaos, this is a more intimate, atmospheric conclusion.”

In the film, four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the spectre of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.

Make-up artist Chris Nelson took to YouTube where he described the new film as being both “weird” and “different.”
