Obscure Horror Game Sad Satan Emerges from the Deep Web

It sounds like something straight out a horror movie: Someone takes a trip into the “deep web” — a place where drugs, hitmen, and weapons are reportedly available for a few bitcoins — and discovers an obscure video game. And while nothing remotely sinister has happened to the people who have played it, the scenario alone is enough to send a shiver down the spine.

According to Geek, the deep web horror game Sad Satan was recently discovered by a fan of the YouTube channel Obscure Horror Center. Jamie, the guy who runs the aforementioned channel, bravely downloaded the game and began posting videos of his adventures.

Geek explained, “For most of it, the player walks down a series of hallways in a dark maze and usually his or her footsteps make up the soundtrack. Only occasionally are the visuals interrupted by brief flashes of black-and-white photography, and towards the end of the video, the soundtrack builds to a loud rumble accompanied by what sounds like a dialogue track extremely slowed down.”

In addition to the bizarro and disturbing imagery — which includes a photo of John F. Kennedy moments before he was assassinated — the game also features an array of strange children who wander through the halls. Adding to the mystery is the fact that the game caused Notepad to mysteriously pop up on Jamie’s desktop, prompting him to delete the game altogether.
