The horror community is like one big family, and it’s always sad when anyone who has contributed to it takes his or her final breath. Today we’re saddened to report on the passing of Brian Clemens, a legendary British writer/producer who built up quite an impressive resume.

The UK-born Clemens worked on over 100 films and television series throughout his lengthy career, which began way back in the late 1950s. He wrote horror films like 1960’s The Tell-Tale Heart, 1971’s See No Evil, and 1974’s Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter. He also wrote episodes for the series “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and “Thriller.”

In 2010 Clemens was honored by the Queen for his contributions to British broadcasting and drama. Other notable writing credits include the British TV series “The Avengers,” “The Professionals,” and “The New Avengers.”

Per BBC News, Brian Clemens passed away this past Saturday in his native England. He was 83.

We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to honor Brian and offer our sincerest of condolences to his friends, family, and constituents. Thanks for the memories, sir.
