Kevin Smith Removing Jay & Silent Bob from MOOSE JAWS

Moose Jaws is coming soon!

Director Kevin Smith’s Jaws parody Moose Jaws is back in the works. And today Smith reveals that he is currently cutting Jay and Silent Bob out of the film.

Smith recently revealed to Jake Hamilton: “Right now I’m in the middle of that [rewrite] and I’m stripping Jay and Silent Bob out of it. The first draft I had done, Jay and Silent Bob were riddled throughout it. And now I want that movie to be by itself. Jay and Silent Bob are gonna come back in [Twilight of the] Mallrats and stuff like that. So I’m just kind of de-Jay and Bob’ing Moose Jaws.”

Smith’s original plan was to split the Quint part in two … played by Silent Bob and Jay. So we’ll have to see how that shakes out now with the duo out of the picture.

Moose Jaws is basically Jaws with a moose instead of a shark.

It’s said to go on like that until the third act, when Smith turns it into something else. Think Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters mixed with Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan with an added dash of Return of the Jedi for good measure.
