Aquatic Terrors: Dread Central’s 31-Day Horror Challenge for August 2018

Recently, we liberated the 31-Day Horror Movie Challenge from the month of October, creating a July genre marathon that corresponded with our “Heatwave” theme. Films featured were hot (figuratively and literally) taking place in arid deserts, foreboding badlands, cursed summer camps, and even the flaming corridors of Hell itself!
We had a blast and decided to keep the blood and guts flowing with another 31-Day Horror Movie Challenge for the month of August. This month, it’s all about “Aquatic Terrors” and we’ll be featuring films set at beaches, floating atop rivers, lakes, or oceans, and/or deep beneath the surface. These flicks will have even the most ardent beach bums clinging to dry land!
The idea is to create unique and inspiring curriculums for the truly devoted; this month’s challenge incorporates the release of The Meg, swimming into theaters nationwide on August 10th, as it fits the Aquatic Terrors theme to a tee. In addition to the usual suspects (we’ve got the entire Jaws and Piranha franchises on deck) will be introducing less studied coinsures to more obscure underwater horrors.
